Funeral service for TSgt (Retired) Jackie Gene Harmon will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2022, in the First Baptist Church, Snyder, with Rev. Landon Warren, pastor officiating.

Burial with full military honors will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder, under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder.

The family will greet friends Sunday afternoon, October 2, 2022, from 2 pm until 4 pm at the funeral home.

Jackie Gene Harmon, 87, Snyder, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, in the Lawton/Fort Sill Veterans Center.

Jack was born April 22, 1935, in Pittsburg, Kansas, to Albert and Edna (Burns) Harmon. He was united in marriage to Mary Louise Miner on August 29, 1959, in Sacramento, California. Together they raised three sons, a grandson, hosted foreign exchange students, and helped to raise a niece and nephew.

Jackie joined the United States Air Force in 1955 where he proudly served for twenty years, retiring as a Tech Sergeant. He received his master’s degree in teaching from SWOSU, served 28 years as a volunteer fireman in Snyder, and both he and his wife Mary were involved in the local Boy Scouts for many years. He loved the Snyder Schools and was an avid supporter of the football and band programs. Jack loved to work with wood and made toys in his spare time.

He is survived by his wife Mary of the home, son Mark Harmon of Mountain Park, eight grandchildren, five great- grandchildren and a host of many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Edna Mae Harmon, his brother Kenneth Harmon, sister Sharon Harmon Crider, two sons, Kenneth Harmon and Robert Harmon, and his grandson Porter Harmon.
