Rita Long-Walker

Rita Gayle Long-Walker was born in Altus on July 21, 1951. She left this world at the age of 71 in Phoenix, Arizona on January 5, 2023.

Rita was raised in Snyder, the youngest of six siblings, where she attended and graduated from Snyder High School. She married right out of high school to James Alba Walker. They had two beautiful children: Jayme and Gayla, but later divorced.

Rita loved being a homemaker and caregiver and always opened her home to anyone in need. Rita moved to Phoenix, Arizona with her son in 2018, so that she could be closer to her son and his charity work.

Rita is survived by her son Jayme Walker and her chosen sons Mark Christensen, Miah Bennett, and Ryan Knop, of Phoenix, Arizona, granddaughter Ravon Gayle Goodman and great-grandson Giovanni Goodman of Camden, Delaware. Also one sister Joy Evens and husband Bill Evans of Nevada, Missouri, one brother Gary Long and wife Glenda Long of Weatherford and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Rita is proceeded in death by her daughter Gayla Michelle Walker, mother and father Voidi and A.L. Long, two brothers A.T. Long and Robert Long and one sister Naomi Studdard.

Rita’s ashes will reside with her son in Arizona, with her final resting place next to her daughter in Fairlawn Cemetery in Snyder.
