Kelly Sweeting, 53, of Snyder, died Tuesday, September 19, 2023. She was born November 23, 1969 in Altus, to Dominga and Mike Aguirri. She truly loved being from a large family.
Kelly had many good memories and stories to tell about growing up with her siblings and working with them in the cotton fields. Kelly graduated from Snyder High School in 1988. She began her career with AAFES at Fort Sill, when she met her husband, David Sweeting in 1990, and they were married in 1991. They moved to Germany in 1992, Louisiana in 1994, and then in 1995 Kelly moved back to her hometown of Snyder, where she raised her three girls. Kelly continued to work for AAFES for the next 27 years all while supporting her girls in every aspect of their lives. Kelly worked very hard to provide for her family and to help anyone who asked, or she felt needed the help.

In 2013 Kelly became known as Mamaw and by 2023 she had seven grandbabies. Her greatest joy was making memories and spending time with her grandbabies. There was nothing that Mamaw wouldn’t do or get for her babies just to see them smile.
Kelly is survived by her mother Dominga Aguirri; daughters: Mikaela Petro and husband Heath, Kimberly Valderas and husband Daniel, Klarissa Sweeting and fiancé Kevin Duke, all of Snyder; grandchildren: Charley Petro, Jupiter Petro, Victoria Petro, Everleigh Valderas, Tobias Valderas, and River Duke, all of Snyder; her sisters: Stacie Saxon, Kristy Combs and husband Ty, Sabrine Lycette, all of Snyder, and Ashley Osborne of Altus; her brothers: Timothy Shelton and wife Ashley of Cache, Aaron Mitchell of Lawton, 10 nieces, eight nephews, four great-nieces and seven great-nephews.
Kelly was preceded in death by her father, a grandson Terry Petro, grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Cardona and Mr. and Mrs. Aguirri, and her brother-in-law Russell Lycette.
