Jo Ann Anita Marugg

Jo Ann Anita Marugg left this Earth on February 12, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at the Salem Baptist Church in Rocky, OK.

She was born at home near Snyder, OK on January 22, 1939. She joined an already large family with her mother, Dora Montgomery and her dad, Charlie Erwin, along with her older siblings, Dave, Arlene and Bonnie Erwin. She was the baby of the family and had a very close connection with her daddy.

She graduated from Snyder High School in 1957 and then moved to the sunny state of California. After a few years, she moved back home to live with her mom and daughter, Julie, back in Oklahoma. She married Floyd Marugg in 1980 and they continued their lives in the Snyder/Mt. Park, OK area until 2007 when they moved to Rocky.

Jo Ann had 85 years on this Earth with family and friends. She was an avid quilter, embroider, crocheter and could do any kind of sewing activity you can think of. Many people around the Hobart/Rocky area were recipients of her many handmade quilts. She was known to be a real hoot with her sassy personality and sense of humor by all who met her. Her granddaughter, Haley, and she were especially close.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Floyd, and older sister, Bonnie Jamrose. Survivors include her daughter, Julie Hawk, granddaughters, Shiloh Unah, Mikaela Unah, Haley Unah, and Karissa Unah. Her siblings, Arlene and Dave, as well as her son-in-law, Mark Unah.

Jo Ann was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Rocky.
