Graveside service for Monty Lee Lapar will be at 3 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2024, in the Roosevelt Cemetery, with Tim Tutten, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Hollis, officiating.
Monty Lee Lapar, 53, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, May 31, 2024. He was born December 19, 1970, in Amarillo, Texas, to Alice Elver and Yancey Lapar. Raised by Alice and Burl Silcox in Amarillo, Monty developed a knack for disassembling and reassembling things from a young age.
In 1992, Monty moved to Roosevelt, OK where he met Darlene Barnes. Together, they had two children, Dylan Lapar (30) and Chasity Lapar (22). In 2005, he met his beloved wife, Jamie Kennsington, and welcomed two bonus children, Stormy and Keegan, into his life.
Monty had various career changes over the years, but his talent for tinkering led him to a successful career in auto mechanics. In 2014, he proudly opened his own automotive shop. Monty enjoyed fishing, noodling, riding his motorcycle, and attending flea markets and car shows. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Monty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Monty is survived by his wife of 19 years, Jamie Kennsington; son, Dylan Lapar and wife Brandy; daughter, Chasity Lapar; half-brother to Dylan and Chasity, Aaron Alonzo who he adored. Also siblings: Utana Taylor, Teresa Silcox, Troy Silcox, Missy Stoner, Eddie Lapar, Kevin Lapar, and Manford Lapar; bonus children: Stormy Bigger and husband Jay, Keegan Kenyon and wife Lindsey; eight grandchildren: Adelaide, Rebecca, Mason, Emma, Kennedy, Cooper, Henry, and Loretta; a granddaughter on the way; and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Monty is preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Burl Silcox, and Yancey Lapar, brother, Montie Wayne, maternal and paternal grandparents, and grandson, Ryatt Wade Lapar.
