Graveside services for Wyneese Barker will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 10 am in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Snyder, Oklahoma with Delbert Beard, Lawton, officiating.
Services are under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
Wyneese Barker, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother peacefully passed away at The Brentwood in Lawton, Oklahoma on June 7, 2024, at the age of 81.
Wyneese was born on March 8,1943, in Snyder, to Alfred and Izell Hamilton. She attended Snyder Public Schools and Cameron University where she received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education.
Wyneese married the love of her life Billy Joe Barker on August 4, 1961, in Frederick, Oklahoma. Shortly after being married, they moved to Mountain Park, Oklahoma where their three children Kelly, Kevin and Kent were born. They later resided in Indiahoma for 11 years before settling in Snyder where they continued to raise their children. Wyneese lived a fulfilling life as an educator for over 30 years as a special education teacher and a psychometrist for the Snyder and Lawton public schools.
She had a deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchild. Their laughter and joy brought immense happiness to her life. Wyneese will always be remembered for her warm smile and her love for her family. Her legacy of love and devotion to education will live on in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
Wyneese was preceded in death by both her parents; her husband of 62 years Billy Joe Barker and her brother Alfred Hamilton Jr.
Her surviving family includes her brother Larry Hamilton of Mustang, Oklahoma; her sister Rilda Fern Perry of Lubbock, Texas; her sister Debbie Miller of Snyder; her daughter and son-in-law Kelly and Tony Franklin of Wichita Falls, Texas; her son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Sharon Barker of Norman, Oklahoma; her son and daughter-in-law Kent and Annie Barker of Chickasha, Oklahoma; her grandchildren Autumn Hegwer and Landry Franklin; her great-grandson Adler Hegwer; along with many friends and loved ones.
