Betty Treadwell
Graveside service for Betty Treadwell age 93, of Snyder, OK will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Snyder, with Rev. Les Bussell officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick, OK. Mrs. Treadwell died Sunday, July 14, 2024, at her home in Snyder.
Patricia and Walter will receive friends and family on Tuesday evening, July 16, 2024, at the Snyder United Methodist Church, 918 E. Street, Snyder, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Elizabeth Janet “Betty” Clark was born January 25, 1931, at Fort Sill, OK. She attended Lincoln Elementary, Central Junior High, and graduated from Lawton High School. She later attended Cameron Junior College. Betty worked for Halliburton in Duncan, OK as a Keypunch Operator, retiring in 1991, after 17 years of service. On December 31, 1950, she and Robert Walter “Bob” Treadwell were united in marriage in Albuquerque, New Mexico. When Bob passed away on August 21, 2016, they had been married 67 years.
Betty loved working with crafts, going to craft shows and sewing with the ladies at the Snyder School Cafeteria. She enjoyed working with Bob with their Quarter Horses and was an excellent lot cleaner. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend; she had a sweet spirit and gave unconditional love to her children.
While living in Duncan she was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church; after moving to Snyder, she was a devout member of the Snyder United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and worked with the youth.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Treadwell of Duncan; one son, Walter Treadwell of Snyder; two nieces, Michelle Victory of Lubbock, Texas, and Kate Johnston and her husband Jack of Lorenzo, Texas; three nephews, Steve Treadwell of Richardson, Texas, Dee Treadwell of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Rix Victory of Dallas, Texas; three cousins, Pam Rensink of Missouri, Meredith Mustain-Mayernik and husband Cory and family of Edmond, OK, and Lynnette Mustain Wolfe and husband Jace and family of Edmond; and a step-sister, Marydale.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Eva Johnson; her father and stepmother, Frank and Jessie Clark; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, S.S. and Ruth Treadwell; her husband, Robert Walter “Bob” Treadwell; her uncle and aunt, Arkie and Sherman Glasgow; her cousins, Muriel and Jerry Mustain and Roy Glasgow; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sue and Whit Victory, Smith Junior and Velma Treadwell, Lamar and Ruth Treadwell, Bill and Kathy Treadwell, Ralph Treadwell, and Larry Treadwell; and one nephew, Tom Treadwell.
Memorial contributions may be made to, Fairlawn Cemetery Fund or Snyder United Methodist Church in memory of Elizabeth Janet “Betty” Treadwell.
