Frank D. Lucus, 82, of Roosevelt, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 3, 2025.
Funeral was Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, in Hobart. Interment was in Hobart Rose Cemetery.
He was born on May 25, 1942, to Trinkle Link and Clara Elizabeth (Shackleford) Lucus in Indiahoma. Frank grew up and attended school in Alfalfa, graduating from Alfalfa High School in 1960. On August 11, 1962, he married the love of his life, Shirley Fearnow, in Hobart. Together, they raised a family and shared a lifetime of cherished memories.
Frank spent much of his life farming and raising cattle, instilling in his children the value of hard work and dedication. He worked for 30 years at the United States Postal Service, where he was known for his reliability and friendly demeanor.
In his spare time, Frank enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—playing golf and dominos with friends and family, and expressing his creativity through painting. He had a passion for art, finding beauty in the world around him and capturing it through his work.
Above all, Frank was a family man. He loved his family deeply, and they were the center of his world. His warmth, humor, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Lucus of the home in Roosevelt, a daughter, Marjory Brooks and husband, James, Hobart, grand-children: Kenneth Brooks, Hobart, Autumn Johnson and companion, Cory Moates, Hobart, Trinity Lucus, Omaha, Nebraska, great-grandchildren: Rhea Johnson, Lincoln Moates, Olivia Moates, and Lucus Moates and a host of numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son: Christopher Allen Lucus, parents: T.L. and Clara Lucus, brothers: Albert Lucus, Donald Lucus, Arson “Shorty” Lucus, and Jammie Lucus, sisters: Anna Lou Stephens, Cora Adams, and Sally Livermore.
