Gaylon Lee Hayslip

Gaylon Lee Hayslip passed away on May 24, 2025, in Oklahoma City. He was born on March 14, 1943, in Roosevelt, to Dan Beaver and Arizona Mae (Fuller) Hayslip. Gaylon grew up and attended school in Roosevelt.
In 1963, Gaylon married Bobbie Canipe, and together they welcomed their daughter, Holly. Later in life, Gaylon married Veleta Corbin. In the early 70’s he began his career as a tool pusher working on offshore drilling rigs of Louisiana and Texas. He enjoyed his time in the oilfield.
He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Roosevelt and was baptized on August 20, 1951, at Cold Springs. Gaylon loved working in his garden, cooking out, fishing, and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include: his daughter, Holly Trout, Marlow, grandchildren: Natalie Davis & husband, Matt, Marlow, Brittany Maxwell & husband, Alan, Duncan, great-grandchildren: Delaney, Brynlee, Sage, and Ford, bonus grandchildren: Jerri Dawn Mayer, McLoud, and Jeanie Logan, Oklahoma City, a brother, Jerry Hayslip, Roosevelt, sister-in-Law: Susan Hayslip, Waxahachie, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Gaylon was preceded in death by his parents: Dan B. and Arizona M. Hayslip, Alene Roden, Lorene Smith, and Dan David Hayslip.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Roosevelt Cemetery under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart.
